The employees of the Dundee Theatre make sacrifices to keep the Midnight Movie series going, and a lot of energy goes into bringing the films in and promoting them. Much time is also spent making sure the film plays correctly, and perhaps most important, the best drinking nights of the week are given up by us so you can come watch classic and cult films on the big screen every weekend.
In return for our efforts we ask that you follow some simple rules to make the show run more smoothly for us, who, on top of everything else, don't feel like dealing with any of your problems after the show starts.
1.) NO TALKING - With some shows we allow it, but we will let you know with a sign at the box office if you can, most shows we want you to keep your comments to yourself. A lot of people actually enjoy these films and would like to watch them with the idiot commentary turned off.
2.) NO ALCOHOL - We don't have a liquor license, so this can get us into heaps of trouble, besides that, the employees don't work at a bar for a reason, we don't want to deal with drunks, puke, or liquor bottles. Do your drinking at the bar next door or your parent's basement - not here.
3.) NO SMOKING - You would think with the smoking ban in effect we wouldn't have to list this but people ask if they can smoke in the theatre all the time. The answer is NO! Not only is it against the law, but it is incredibly rude to smoke in a poorly ventilated area. Don't smoke in our theatre. Don't smoke in any theatre.
4.) NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK - That Taco Bell you want to bring in stinks something fierce and runs the risk of attracting unwanted guests (it's an old building), and all outside drink is assumed to have alcohol in it. Get your snack fix at our concession stand, it's way cheap anyway.
Follow these rules and enjoy these films the way they were intended, on a big screen with an audience of your peers. Break the rules and you will be removed from the theatre without refund.
